ICELDA associates elected to executives of SAALA and SAALT
Two ICELDA test developers, Zaan Bester of Stellenbosch University, and Avasha Rambiritch of the University of Pretoria, were elected to the new executive of the Southern African Applied Linguistics Association (SAALA) at its recent AGM in Bloemfontein. SAALA recently held its 2012 joint conference with the Linguistics Society of South Africa (LSSA) and the South African Association for Language Teaching (SAALT). This annual event draws close on 200 scholars, and is without doubt South Africa’s premier languages-related conference. At the same conference, during the SAALT AGM, Tobie van Dyk, currently ICELDA’s chief administrative officer, was re-elected as the deputy chair of that organisation. Congratulations to all of them, and our thanks for flying the ICELDA banner in a broader scholarly context.
