Two more awards for Tobie van Dyk

Tobie van Dyk, ICELDA’s chief administrative officer who is currently on study leave in the Netherlands, was recently awarded the coveted HB Thom Award (University of Stellenbosch) for post-doctoral studies. More or less at the same time, he received a travel grant from the National Research Foundation of South Africa for the same purpose. Dr van Dyk is also the recipient of a prestigious Erasmus Mundus fellowship. The Erasmus Mundus programme is the European Union’s flagship programme for international cooperation in higher education, and by receiving this award, he made history by being one of the first South Africans to be selected for Action 2 (Sapient Mundus) of this programme. Its purpose is to enhance academic mobility between South Africa and Europe, and to benefit both.
