ICELDA intern Marilize Pretorius completes her first MA with distinction

Marilize PretoriusCongratulations to ICELDA intern Marilize Pretorius, who has completed her first MA with distinction. Her dissertation was entitled “The transnational intellectual in contemporary Nigerian literature”. Marilize is currently registered for another master’s study with the Department of Linguistics and Language Practice at the University of the Free State. Her dissertation topic is “The theoretical justification for the design of a communicative course for nurses: Nurses on the move”.

Her investigation will articulate a syllabus for the kinds of communication abilities that affect nurses professionally, and her supervisors are Prof Albert Weideman and Prof. Tobie van Dyk, respectively ICELDA’s CEO and Director: Operations. Nurses on the move is an ICELDA project that is linked to our collaboration with Prof. Kris van de Poel of the University of Antwerp. The result we celebrate here confirms that the high expectations we have of Marilize’s work are warranted. We wish her well in her new endeavour!
