ICELDA project associate wins EUROSA scholarship
Marilize Pretorius, ICELDA project associate, has been awarded a prestigious scholarship for doctoral study at the University of Antwerp. The Europe and South Africa (EUROSA) Sustainable Partnership for Human Development programme has made a three-year bursary available for her to pursue doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Kris Van de Poel.
Marilize has just completed a second MA, with a dissertation entitled The theoretical justification for the design of a communicative course for nurses: Nurses on the Move, which is linked to the initiative of the same name under the umbrella project Communication for Professionals. Ms Pretorius, who has already been involved in that project, hopes to leave for Antwerp in August this year to take up the offer of study.
“We are extremely proud of Marilize’s achievement,” says ICELDA CEO Albert Weideman, the supervisor of her second MA dissertation. “Our congratulations and best wishes accompany her.”
